      Handmade in Kenya, the Kikoy towels can be worn as a Kikoy and used as a beach towel. They have one layer of towelling sewn on the back of the 100% natural cotton Kikoy, as well as a perfect hide-away pocket for anything you want to tuck away whilst on the beach!

      • 100% Cotton front with towelling lining 65% polyester 35 % cotton.
      • The Kikoy is a rectangular piece of cloth from Kenya, about 66 inches by 40 inches in size, it is made with 100% natural cotton with traditionally hand knotted ends and comes in truly vibrant colours . The history of the Kikoy (also spelt Kikoi), is a traditional hand-woven East African garment worn by local fishermen in Kenya and Tanzania. Kikoy is made from 100% cotton that is grown and harvested in East Africa. The woven fabric is dyed with bright, azo free dyes, resulting in a traditional sarong with vibrant colors that represent the spirit of the East African people. Today, kikoy is still hand-loomed, though it is often machine-loomed to increase quality and production quantities. The distinctive kikoy tassels continue to be hand-knotted by artisans.
