MEANINGFUL MARCH
#ASPIGAMUMANDME
In March we celebrated women's achievements and took action for equality. We donated 10% of proceeds on Mother’s Day, International Women’s Day and World Water Day equally, between Water Harvest and the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
Supporting WaterHarvest
We donated 5% of our proceeds today to WaterHarvest, who you will have seen us partner with before. Their work helps to enable women and children in rural India to enter education and work, instead of collecting water.
The Ukraine Crisis
In light of recent events, we also donated a further 5% to the British Red Cross, who are working to provide food, water, first aid, and shelter to those affected by the crisis in Ukraine, especially women who have had to flee the country without husbands, brothers, and fathers.
Aspiga Mum and Me
We invited our customers to share pictures of themselves with their grandmothers, mothers and daughters all wearing Aspiga. Here are some of our

What's your favourite thing to do together?
We speak on the phone everyday but also love to catch up over a long walk with my dog, Kafka. We both like eating out too, accompanied by a glass of rose or two (ok a bottle!)
What's her best piece of advice she's ever given you?
Stay calm and don't sweat the small stuff. She never lets things bother her.
What do you love most about your mum?
She has always been there for me and totally supportive - even if deep down she disagrees!
Do you have any sustainability tips to share?
We both are into quality over quantity and buy clothes to last, rather than fad fashion pieces. It's all about investment items for your wardrobe and getting your price per wear.

What's your favourite thing to do together?
Shopping and a little bit of girlie pamper time at home! Face mask and candles and bath bombs and we are set. Just add chocolate.
What's the best piece of advice she's ever given you?
Be kind and just do your own thing. Don’t be swayed by the crowd. Follow your own tune.
What do you love most about your daughter?
She’s quietly comfortable in her own skin which I’m so proud of. She’s very funny and inherently kind towards her pals.
Do you have any sustainability tips to share?
Share your clothes, and buy preloved when you can. Sometimes that’s where you get the most satisfaction.

What's your favourite thing to do together?
Definitely holidays and everyday things like shopping and eating out... but we have a lot of fun at parties as we all love to dance and party games.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever given them?
I would say the best advice I’ve given is to do what makes you happy... but they may say otherwise. I think that I also have instilled in them to always be thoughtful and kind and caring and they really are.
How would your daughters describe you?
Recently Edie wrote me a letter that said “I am an incredible role model with a beautiful soul and that I am kind, funny and caring and how proud she is of what ive achieved.
Do you have any sustainability tips to share?
Share each other’s wardrobes when we can and shop preloved a lot. I often have things altered or made for me from fabric I have found either preloved or other.

What's your favourite thing to do together?
We love nothing better than to pack everything in the car and then head off out of town to the beach with Layla and Taiga (Caitlans daughters and my grandaughters).
What's the best piece of advice she's ever given you?
She's always giving me good advice - shes very fair and just in how she views the world and always comes up with workable solutions to my airy fairy-ness. That makes her sound a bit sensible, like Saffy the daughter in Ab Fab, but that's not the case at all - she's great fun too, and always makes me laugh.
What do you love most about your mum?
I love the way my mum passes on her creativity to my daughters. Taigas always painting and drawing at mums or decorating a cake, and she's really encouraged Layla to learn a musical instrument.
Do you have any sustainability tips to share?
Only buy what you really love and know you'll treasure, wear forever, and hand down to your daughters/grandaughters. Share clothes with family or friends - it feels good to know that what you're not wearing is being used by someone else.

What's your favourite thing to do together?
My favourite thing to do with my Mum is a spot of shopping followed by lunch. There is no one who’s opinion I value more than my Mum (or who has the amount of patience required) so she is the best shopping partner. Then lunch is when we can have a proper gossip!
What's the best piece of advice she's ever given you?
Mum is full of advice, mainly re boyfriends... When I was broken up with in the past, she made me write a list of all the reasons they weren’t right for me and I was to read it whenever I felt sad. The reasons can be as significant or insignificant as you like, but the more the better. I make my friends do the same if they’re getting over a break up. It actually really helps!
What do you love most about your mum?
I love how generous, kind and thoughtful she is.
Do you have any sustainability tips to share?
1. Repair to rewear 2. Quality over quantity 3. Shop more second hand.

What's the best piece of advice she's ever given you?
To do what makes me happy!
What do you love most about your granny?
I love Gigi's elegance and our shared passion for clothes. She also makes the best millionaires shortbreads!
Do you have any sustainability tips to share?
Keep hold of clothes even if they dip out of fashion and share through the generations. I love wearing a velvet jacket which Gigi wore to her 30th, the design team at Aspiga even used it for inspiration recently.

What's your favourite thing to do together?
Cooking a Sunday roast together or better still going to the local pub for one.
What's the best piece of advice she's ever given you?
Live life to the full, you don’t get a second chance.
What do you love most about your mum?
Her energy and resilience (I’ve never once seen her have a morning in bed, even if she is feeling unwell) and her thoughtfulness.
Do you have any sustainability tips to share?
My mother does not waste anything, even when I was a child I remember her washing up plastic bags and moulding old bits of soap together (all post war things I imagine) and always composting and growing her own veg, so maybe for those that dont, definitely start to compost your left over food.

At the beginning of each season, shop your wardrobe before you hit the shops!! Trends come around over and over again. You’ll likely find something you fall back in love with that you already own.
