Q: How should i care for my Aspiga sandals?
Due to the care that goes into making Aspiga Sandals they are very hardwearing. But at the same time they don’t really like getting wet as they are predominantly made of leather. So, if you leave them outside by accident or get caught in a rain storm either on the beach or at home, try to dry them out as soon as you get the chance. Also, another rogue fan of our sandals are pooches, especially puppies! Apparently they look quite tasty, so to save you buying another pair sooner than expected...“Keep out of reach of dogs!”
Q: If the sandals feel tight on my feet when I initially try them on, would you suggest trying an alternative size or do they just need wearing in?
They will feel slightly close fitting to begin, but the leather (being a natural fabric) will stretch to mould your feet so you’ll soon feel like you’re wearing very chic slippers to the beach.
Q: I love your sandals but I’m worried about fit as I have wide feet, what would you suggest?
Firstly, please have a look at our Sizing Guide as we have carefully measured all footwear so we are able to provide you with all the vital stats necessary to make your selection. However, nobody knows the products better than us so please feel free to get in touch as we’d be delighted to make some recommendations and offer more detail.
Q: I am not used to wearing a toe piece between my toes as previously this has caused a lot of discomfort. Therefore I’m nervous about buying anymore, but I love your sandals...what would you suggest?
Lots of our customers have had a similar issue, but because all our toe pieces are made of leather they become softer and softer over time and are so comfortable to wear. But, be kind to yourself and break them in gently by just wearing them around the house to begin, i.e. no hikes or mammoth shopping sprees for at least a couple of days.
Q: My feet are quite narrow, which sandals would you recommend?
For Narrow feet, check out either the Starfish Sandal or Classic Silver Flip Flop for their flattering and delicate fit.
Q: I can’t wear flat sandals, what do you recommend?
If you find flats uncomfortable, check out our range of stylish heeled sandals. They are just as comfortable, great for the beach and will carry you on through till dawn.
Q: Which of your sandals do you think provide the most support and cushioning when walking?
The Tanzi Sandal is designed to hold and fit your foot like a glove, and the padded sole cushions and supports your feet so much so that you won’t want to take them off!
Q: Love your sandals, but forsee that real leather soles could be slippery and I’m as accident prone as they come. Any tips?
Great question, initially please do take care when wearing in your new purchases as occasionally slippages may happen, particularly if the surfaces you are walking on are wet to begin with. All our sandals however do have a small non-slip heel to help combat this, but if you want to add that little bit extra grip, try scoring the bottom of the sole with a sharp object. Please do this responsibly!
Q: I don’t have the largest of chest sizes, shall we say!! Therefore which bikini would you recommend?
Join the club!! Check out our Milanda Bikinis, these have a soft molded bikini top which provides that little bit of extra padding. No one will ever know!
Q: What is a Kikoy?
A Kikoy is a traditional Kenyan wrap, about 60" x 40" is size, it is made from 100% natural cotton with traditionally hand knotted ends. The history of the kikoy (also spelt kikoi) is a traditional hand-woven East African garment worn by local fishermen in Kenya and Tanzania. Kikoy is made from 100% cotton grown and harvested in Kenya. The woven fabric is dyed with bright azo free dyes, resulting in a traditional sarong with vibrant colours that represent the spirit of the East African people. Today, kikoy is still hand-loomed, though it is often machine-loomed to increase quaiity and production quantities. The distinctive kikoy tassels contine to be hand-knotted by artisans.
Q: Love the Kikoys but I am never quite sure what to do with them?
A Kikoy is one of the most versatile products you will ever come across, there’s nothing you can’t do with them: try wearing it as a sarong wrap; or if you were a little light on the sun cream application, throw it round your shoulders for when you fancy a stroll along the beach; great as a scarf on a chilly summers day…in the UK; why not roll it out as a picnic rug or small table cloth; Backpacking trips to hot countries would not be complete without one especially when you just can’t squeeze your towel in; chair or car seat covers; or just to wander around the house in - the list is endless!! In fact, if you have anymore Kikoy uses let us know! Email:firstname.lastname@example.org
Q: What is the best way to care for my swimwear?
If you follow these simple swimwear care instructions, you will get lots of wear and enjoyment from all your swimwear: Chlorine, perspiration, alcohol, oil, suntan lotions must be removed, rinsing them isn’t quite enough. We recommend hand washing in fresh lukewarm water and then lying them out flat to dry. Never wring, twist or put in a washing machine or dryer. Do not use bleach or Woolite. Do not dry clean. Avoid prolonged soaks in Jacuzzis and hot tubs. Avoid direct contact with abrasive surfaces. All our swimwear is made from highest quality fabrics and dyes available, however, due to the continual exposure to sun and chlorine, we cannot guarantee against fading.
