An excellent opportunity to work for a growing business focused on ethical and sustainable fashion. Having recently re-platformed to Shopify, Aspiga is looking for an individual who will be instrumental in developing and implementing the Digital Marketing and Ecommerce Strategy, ensuring the required revenue and profit targets are met.

Working alongside the owner, the E-commerce and Digital Marketing Director will be responsible for growing the company significantly, leading a team of people to manage the customer, digital and operational elements whilst briefing the buying and creative teams on product and content requirements.



  • Produce the commercial business plan/strategy, identifying the key initiatives and KPIs to drive continuous growth, measure performance and deliver the financial targets.
  • Identify initiatives to acquire new customers and drive frequency and value of spend from the existing database.
  • Set the sales and trading plan for the financial year by week.
  • Set the marketing budget by month, outlining spend, expected revenue and ROI from each marketing channel.


  • Maximise the commercial performance of the website using analytics data on traffic, revenue, conversion, order value, stock and product performance.
  • Drive insights, actions and measurable improvements in revenue, orders, AOV and conversion rates.
  • Ensure the trading calendar is supported by the right stock and product mix.
  • Report on product availability, ensuring the right products and depth of stock are in place.
  • Ensure regular web content changes to key pages to ensure customer engagement.
  • Ensure the site is merchandised so bestsellers are visible and optimised.
  • Provide the warehouse with weekly forecasts to enable them to manage demand effectively.
  • Compile weekly/monthly reports on trading and KPI performance, identifying trends and opportunities.

Manage the Ecommerce and Digital Marketing P&L, liaising with finance when relevant.


  • Increase the traffic to the site through identifying and implementing customer acquisition tactics and increasing customer RFM value.
  • Develop and build commercial e-mails relevant to the customer to drive traffic and conversion. Ensure the creative team are briefed in advance on content requirements and identify the right send timings for maximum revenue.
  • Manage the Paid Search agency to ensure optimum ROI from generic and brand campaigns
  • Manage and drive Paid Social revenue via Facebook and Instagram.
  • Manage and grow Affiliate and Display marketing activity through working closely with the relevant agencies.
  • Explore the development of a CRM programme using the database and Shopify/Mailchimp tools available.
  • Ensure Direct Mail brochures are delivered on time to optimise sales at key times.
  • Ensure all marketing tactics are backed up with stock.
  • Report on all marketing channels on a weekly basis (vs last year and plan).

Web Development

  • Manage the Digital Roadmap ensuring all development is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Initiate conversion driving developments across all digital channels (mobile/desktop/tablet).
  • Constantly improve the product conversion funnel from category view to product page carrying out A/B tests
  • Oversee the site and its performance, working with Shopify developers when appropriate

Customer Service

  • Manage the Customer Service team ensuring all issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Develop a customer strategy to ensure an excellent customer experience is delivered and all SLAs are met within the budget constraints.
  • Liaise with the warehouse (and couriers) on relevant customer matters.


    • Proven Ecommerce trading and digital marketing experience in an established online retailer
    • Preferable experience working with the Shopify platform
    • A strong commercial acumen and an analytical grounding to help identify and initiate trading and marketing opportunities and inform decisions to minimise risk.
    • The ability to create and execute strategic plans;
    • A high degree of numeracy with strong Excel and data analysis skills
    • Outstanding communication and organisation skills
    • Good people and leadership skills - ability to liaise/negotiate with 3rd parties and lead / develop a small team
    • Previous P&L Responsibility
    • Experience managing Customer Services

        2. Wholesale Manager (part time, 3/4 days a week, starting Jan)


        Designed in the UK, but handmade in Africa and India, the Aspiga Collection includes beautiful leather beaded sandals, flip flops, bags, baskets, beachwear, clothing and jewellery.  Aspiga use suppliers, with small work forces (not large factories) creating much needed jobs for local men and women, and revenue for the local community, and we are proud to be helping fight poverty through trade.

        We are a small passionate team of six, who are excited about taking Aspiga to the next stage.


        This is an excellent opportunity to work for a growing business focused on ethical and sustainable fashion. The Wholesale side of the business has roughly 80 customers and accounts for roughly 15% of the total annual income.

        • Manage wholesale orders on Brightpearl (Wholesale ERP system).  Draw up sales orders, proforma invoices, delivery notes etc for the customer.  
        • Ensure BP is managed correctly and always clear with no incorrect allocated stock or pending orders.
        • Maintain relationships with customers and act as first point of contact for any queries, complaints or feedback.  
        • Raise invoices and work with Aspiga bookkeeper to ensure customer accounts are correct, provide statements of account and identify and chase payments from debtors when necessary.  
        • Work closely with external “Pick and Pack” warehouse to ensure orders are sent out on time and this information is relayed to the customer.  
        • Communicate with Aspiga agents and distributors (if appropriate) on a regular basis to maintain relationship and ensure payments, delivery and systems are working effectively and efficiently with these key customers.  
        • Set up stand and attend appropriate Trade Shows in the UK and across Europe to take orders and obtain sales leads, follow up with any contacts who expressed interest.   
        • Maintain and build the Wholesale mailing list and use Mailchimp to create email mailings for present and potential customers (e.g. Trade show invitations, discounts, newsletters).
        • Generation of weekly and monthly sales reports for Accounts and Lucy Macnamara.
        • Set up all information on VIP customers portals, ensuring we adhere to their requirements and deliver on time and manage relationships with them , speaking on the phone and building a relationship.


        • To meet (or preferably exceed) the sales targets per month.
        • To constantly review our customer / stockist list and approach all past customers to try to encourage them to place an order.
        • Help generate sales by identifying and approaching new target customers.
        • Approach new VIP customers from target list and try to ensure S/S and A/W orders.
        • Respond to sales queries within 2 hour of receiving the email, during working hours.

        General / Office

        • Manage interns
        • Organise and host the occasional Retail show (e.g. Spirit of Summer) selling direct to the public.  
        • Assist with the marketing of the brand and social media activities
        • Monitor all office supplies and stationary and manage the stationary cupboard.
        • Answer phone and assist with customer queries- both website and wholesale


          • To have worked for a retail business before, preferably in wholesale or sales.
          • To have an eye for detail and to be super organised.
          • To be able to speak French would be preferable, as many of our wholesale customers are French.
          • To be good on Excel and have experience working on operating systems.
          • To be good communicator and be able to interact and call customers, and be the voice of the brand.

            3. Student E-commerce and Marketing Internship (6 months preferably, full time)

            Aspiga is based in South London in up and coming Battersea, super close to Battersea Park, we’ve got the scenery as well as a thriving business area. We are a small team made up of six, and are a close-knit family all ready to help and chip in where necessary. We all share similar values for ethical fashion and making a conscious effort to helping the environment.

            At Aspiga we are always on the look out for fresh new talent, resulting in hiring enthusiastic interns to come and experience the life inside Aspiga’s HQ. The internships we offer are ideal for students needing some valid experience or a work placement in order to complete their course. We are extremely flexible with the amount hours and length of the placement that is required, however we do strongly believe a 6 month placement is most beneficial to really see and feel the ins and outs of an expanding business. 


            We are offering an exciting opportunity for Ecommerce and Digital Marketing Intern. This role is ideal for a student undertaking a degree in Marketing or similar. Here at Aspiga we are small, dynamic friendly team, and therefore you will have the chance to experience a wide variety of different work duties. There will be no time for making tea all day! You must be a committed hard worker, fashion lover, and a quick thinker. As well as, of course happy to get stuck in when your help may be needed!

              WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

              • How to create and upload new products to the website including SEO, URL setup, compelling product descriptions and ensuring high quality imagery is uploaded to sell well.
              • Adobe Photoshop essential skills, marketing newsletter strategy
              • General maintenance of the website, how to make any necessary changes and on going improvements
              • Visual Merchandising of the site
              • Creating and designing website banners
              • Report and analysing website strategy to improve online growth
              • Full training on our CMS platform Shopify


                • Must have a strong interest in digital marketing and fashion ecommerce
                • Must be a student
                • Excellent English – both written and spoken
