We’re so excited to introduce Radio and Television Presenter: Nicki Chapman
1. You’ve had such a varied and vibrant career, from Pop Idol to property shows, to now being an author. What’s been the most defining moment for you so far?
Good question, I’ve been fortunate enough to have sooo many amazing moments in my life and career but I think being a judge on the biggest tv show in the UK (at the time) had to be the defining one. It changed my life.
2. You radiate positivity, even when talking about life’s tougher moments. Where does that inner strength come from?
I think I was born with my glass being half full and not half empty. I always look for the win in every difficult situation, even when I feel I’m not making any headway or indeed may have failed. I smile a lot, being positive comes natural life isn’t a bed of roses for any of us but I like to think the best of people/work situations and life in general. It helps…
3. Your new book So, Tell Me What You Want explores how to thrive, not just survive. What’s one habit or mindset shift that’s helped you most?
Believing in yourself and working damn hard. Looking back, I wasn’t super confident but I knew I was good at my job and worked with incredible talent over the years. The stats & successes spoke for themselves and I was a small but vital part of that.

4. Aspiga is all about sustainable living and thoughtful fashion. What does conscious consumerism mean to you?
Think before you buy. Ask yourself ‘do I need this’. Go for quality over quantity. I’m a volunteer in my local charity show - a role I love but also gives me daily reminders of how we can all play our part. I’m still wearing outfits and coats I bought over 20 years ago. When I feel they ‘need to move on’ I donate them to the shop.
5. You’ve spent years on-screen helping others find their dream homes and new beginnings. What does ‘home’ mean to you personally?
Home is my sanctuary, and with that I also include my much loved garden. A space I can unwind and relax in, potter and just be on my own. Or with my husband!

6. If you could give a pep talk to your younger self, what would you say?
You are better than you think you are.
7. If other people (more skilled or experienced in that area) believe in you, why should you have the doubts?
What’s the worst that can happen. Absolutely go for it and don’t cut corners. Don’t be a ‘I’m gonna do that one day’ type of person. Be I ‘I’ve done it’ instead
