The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to play a pivotal role in
managing Payables, Treasury and Balance sheet areas of the business.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and to optimise
inventory, ensure accurate financial reconciliation, and support operational efficiency.

This role is essential to ensuring that Aspiga’s stock control, reporting, and payments
processes run smoothly across multiple business channels (retail, e-commerce, wholesale,
concessions). The role requires a detail-oriented professional who can balance financial
control with operational execution, working collaboratively with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Management & Reconciliation

  • Oversee and maintain the Stock & Non-Stock Accounts Payable ledger, ensuring invoices are posted and accounted accurately and supplier reconciliations are done
    regularly.
  • Process and manage all invoices across multiple currencies, reconciling payments
    and foreign currency bank accounts.
  • Manage 2 Email inboxes, clear communication to all suppliers and staff.
  • Ensure proforma and deposits for orders are correctly recorded, deducted and
    reconciled. Follow up for any fabric deposits or any other advances are cleared and
    allocated promptly.
  • Prepare, post and allocate payment runs for all suppliers and staff expenses.

2. Financial & Month-end Reporting Responsibilities

  • Update and own the cash flow planning, particularly for stock and currency payments with regular catchups with Head of Department. Provide forward payments forecasts.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations owing various balance sheet GL lines
    (like Fixed Asset Register, all bank and credit card, Debtors ledger, Sales
    reconciliations, Accruals, prepayments etc) explaining variances clearly and
    proposing & initiating actions.
  • Adhere and perform all month end tasks within agreed deadlines.
  • Assist the HOD with annual budgets and forecasting of agreed cost centres.
  • Assist with Quarterly VAT returns preparation and filing.
  • Update, analyse, review and issue all month end schedules and Store Profit and
    Loss.

3. Operations & Supply Chain Support

  • Work closely with the Buying, Design, and Operations teams to provide insights and
    drive cost-saving initiatives and highlight any issues with relevant suppliers.
  • Adhoc support to Customer services when required.
  • Provide holiday cover in Finance/Operations department, ensuring continuity in
    decision-making.

About You (Skills & Experience)

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong financial and
stock operations expertise.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a similar stock/operations role within retail, fashion, or
    supply chain.
  • Strong analytical and financial reconciliation skills to manage stock control effectively.
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments, ideally within a small to
    medium-sized business.
  • Knowledge of multi-currency transactions and reconciliations.
  • Experience with stock management software (Brightpearl experience desirable but
    not essential).
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills – able to partner with
    finance, buying, and operations teams.
  • Preferred educational background in finance, accounting, stock operations, or
    business management.
