Aspiga Beach Clean Up

Our first clean up was done on the 5th June (World Environment Day) and we also completed a second one at the end of July

The Clean Ups were done on Malindi Beach by the Marine Park in Kenya

Through May to July 2019 we pledged to collect a basket of plastic from the beaches in Kenya for every pair of sandals sold, after our founder Lucy was shocked at the amount of plastic she found on the Kenyan Beaches when visiting our suppliers.

We sold 800 pairs in total and have completed two beach clean ups and collected 800 baskets of plastic .

Due to the success of the programme we are now committed to regular beach clean ups.

We pay local school children to pick up the plastic

It is then taken to Eco World Plastics recycling centre in Watama, where they weigh the waste

We are thrilled to be helping clean the beaches as well as educating the children on the environmental impact that plastic has on our planet
