Aspiga pledged to collect a basket of plastic from the beaches in Kenya for every pair of Kenyan sandals sold from May to the end of July this year. We are delighted that we sold 800 pairs in total. We have now completed two beach clean-ups and collected 800 baskets of plastic. Aspiga paid local school children to pick up the plastic, they then took it to the Eco World Plastics Recycling Centre in Watama, where they weighed their collection and were shown around the Centre. We are thrilled to be helping clean the beaches as well as educating the children on the environmental impact that plastic has on our planet.
