Our Contribution To Bluebells School

 Bluebells is a rural primary school located near our Kenyan suppliers in Watamu, with 150 children. Each year, we contribute donations to the school that support crucial needs such as teachers salaries, enabling children to get an education they otherwise wouldn't, and enhancing the school's functionality, including electricity bills and solar panels.

Recently, part of our donation went towards implementing solar panels in the school. These photos capture these new solar-powered systems, which are installed in the staff room, computer room, and Mwana's office at Bluebells School. These innovations, powered entirely by the sun, showcase the transformative power of sustainable energy and the positive impact it can have on communities.

We are absolutely thrilled with the latest additions made possible by our contribution. The new solar-powered security lights will significantly enhance the security of the school compound, creating a safer environment for everyone. This year, our support has funded computer repairs, including fixing broken mice and improving functionality, the installation of solar power panels, and covering the cost of the electrician and his labor.

This project is incredibly special to us. Lucy's journey with Aspiga began over 20 years ago, inspired by the beautiful beaded belts and shoes she discovered while on holiday in Kenya. Since then, Aspiga has grown into a wonderful company, proudly holding the coveted B Corp status.

 We’ve already donated over £14,000 to Bluebells which has helped pay for teachers’ salaries and school fees, we have seen first-hand just how much this support is both needed and appreciated. We are honored and delighted to support Bluebells School once again this year. Creating a sustainable world requires us all to work together to foster prosperity for everyone, and we believe in making a difference where it matters most.
