The Shoe and Bag Colour Edit
Our collection of embellished and beaded sandals are handmade by artisans in India and Kenya. We love working with small collectives where our orders make a real difference to the workers’ livelihoods and we can build ongoing working relationships that help to sustain local communities. We also love that the techniques required to hand bead and stitch are passed on from generation to generation, creating a lasting skill set along with our beautiful products.
In no particular order, we have put together our top 5 sandals for Summer 2019.
The Cobra Wrap Sandals in Leopard, made from 100% leather, is stylish and comfortable. It has a soft wire running through the leather that winds up the leg which helps it to stay in place. Leopard is a great neutral and provides a fun contrast to printed dresses and interest to plain bottoms, be it jeans or chinos. This style has been seen several times on one of our favourite bloggers, Kat Farmer @doesmybumlook40. Check out her insta account to see how she styled them.
The Melissa Flat Sandal in Tan and Coffee will take you anywhere – from a sunny French village market with a straw bag (think Jane Birkin) to lunch in the city and anywhere in between. The leather crosses over the feet and wraps around the ankles giving a nod to gladiator style.
The Clarissa is a simple summer sandal that oozes understated style. Made from 100% leather, it crosses over the toe and fastens with a buckle on the side of the ankle. In tan and leopard, it is low maintenance but looks great with everything.
Pump up the colour intensity with our Komosa Sandals. The coral colourway has the most stock availability currently. These sandals go with most colours in your wardrobe and look as good with contrasting colours as they do with the same colour family. Pretty, they are fun for holiday and won’t break the bank.
Our Alisha Sandal comes in leopard, multi and silver and is the ultimate comfortable yet stylish sandal. It has a suede padded footbed for softness and is handmade using glass beads (rather than plastic to help our planet). Style with everything from shorts to jeans and dresses and know that you can wear them all day long. They come up slightly larger than our other sandals so try one size smaller than normal.
Our final must have accessory of the summer is the pouch bag. We love the tropical pink, blue and multi colourways. Glass beads are handstitched on to jute pouches in the shape of a palm print. Small enough to be elegant but large enough to actually fit your keys, brush, lipstick etc, they are great for any summer occasion – from festivals to parties and weddings.
