The best summer dresses to wear to Wimbledon 2019 | Aspiga

This year seems to have gone faster than almost any other. How are we almost at the longest day of the year? The good news is that the great British season is about to start. Always full of fun; from the tennis to the races and the opera, the only unknown is the great British weather. True to form, it has presented its usual sartorial challenges. We may not have had four seasons in one day but we certainly have had them in one week.

If you’re lucky enough to be going to Wimbledon, the Fever-Tree Championships at Queens this year or any other tennis event and are still working out what to wear, we have put together some options for dresses that will work perfectly courtside. If you’re a linen lover, we have a great collection of linen dresses in short sleeve styles both above the knee and in midi lengths. Our colour palette works perfectly for Wimbledon. The beauty of linen is its ability to keep you cool should the thermometer start to head north whilst surprisingly keeping you warm when a breeze comes through, thanks to its natural insulating properties.

Our Dori linen dress, an all-time best seller, is a great option for an above the knee look and the Elenor dress is a good choice as a midi. If the weather doesn’t play ball, the Linen midi shirt dress is a chic alternative, with sleeves and a tie belt. Team with a pair of our Espadrilles, which come in a range of heel heights to suit your comfort zone and you have the perfect look for a day at the tennis.

If you prefer print to plain, we have some pretty midi dresses with both long and short sleeves. For a slightly cooler day, try our Vienna chiffon dress which comes in two colours or the Sonia embroidered dress. Flattering and stylish, these dresses have long sleeves but are made in lightweight fabrics so still feel summery. The Genevieve dress is also a great option for when the weather is uncertain.

If the sun really does have its hat on, we have a variety of looks with short sleeves in varying hem lengths for summer days. The Carmela midi sundress, the Shelley wrap midi dress, the Nissi frill and Amber dress are all pretty printed options that take in geometric designs to florals. If you prefer wearing flats, our Melissa flat sandals are a stylish yet comfortable option.

As optimists, we’d team any of these looks with a stylish pair of sunglasses and panama hat. The umbrella and blazer no doubt need to be ready to go too but hopefully summer will begin in earnest in time for some great tennis, pimms and all the other glorious rituals that make up our summer season. Enjoy!
