SOUTH AFRICA PHOTOSHOOT & THE NEW SS23 COLLECTION

We are excited to share our SS23 collection with you, along with some fun behind the scenes of the SS23 photoshoot with Lucy and Izzie (Assistant Designer) in Cape Town. The new collection uses all our favourite sustainable fabrics including organic cotton, EcoVero™ viscose, Tencel ™ satin, sustainably sourced crinkle viscose and premium european flax certified Linen.

The Design team have selected some beautiful new floral, abstract and geometric prints which are very on trend for the new season and colour imaged them in our fresh and vibrant and colour palettes. Our talented team of young assistants have also created some bespoke prints which give a unique handwriting to the collection.

We also love embroidery and the designers have created pretty new embroideries to complement our prints. We have a brilliant selection of dresses to take you from day wear to smart occasion dressing and holiday wear, along with everyday staples and a growing men's collection.

  Day 2

Lucy and Izzie, both fitness enthusiasts, began their hike up Lions Head at 7:45 a.m. The trail was steep and challenging, with lots of rock climbing to the top of the mountain, but the 5.5k trail took them about 2 hours. Once at the top, the 360'C view of Cape Town was "breathtaking", in their words, and well worth the climb. The rest of the day was filled with meetings with the photographer, more model castings and shoot prep.

  Day 3

Alarms went off at 3am and Izzie and Lucy loaded the van and drove to the set to start hair and make-up at 5am. The location's white walls and the incredible blue sky were the perfect backdrop for the new collection. We love this shot of our Becks skirt made from soft organic cotton and delicately block printed by hand, seen here with our Ilana top. These pieces are so versatile and can be pulled up as shown or worn to meet the skirt waistband. They are also great mix and match pieces and can be paired with existing pieces in your wardrobe.

We listened to your feedback and now offer two lengths: our regular length, which is ideal for people over 5 feet 6 inches, or our new shorter length, which ends 7.5 centimetres shorter.

Boulders Beach

You must visit the beautiful Boulders Beach, located in the Cape’s peninsula near Simon’s Town. A short walk down the beach, you can see the protected colony of African penguins, bustling around. The photo above is of Lucy
and Izzie on their last day in South Africa, post shoot adventures.

Table Mountain

You must climb to the top of the well-known Table Mountain if you want to see the best views of Cape Town. Despite having a limited amount of time to get back to work, Lucy and Izzie managed to climb the mountain in 1 hour and 40 minutes by using the steps. With a 360-degree aerial view of the magnificent city, they then rode the cable car back down. The cable car runs up and down the mountain from Tafelberg Road and it is thought that 28 million people have been transported by the cableway to the tourist summit to date.

  Where to Eat

Harbour House

Lucy and Izzie loved local restaurant Harbour House, on the water’s edge in the picturesque harbour of Kalk Bay. After a delicious lunch, they braved a quick swim at Fish Hoek Beach.

La Perla

Lucy and Izzie celebrated the end of the two-day shoot at their favourite restaurant, La Perla, a great beachfront spot in Sea Point that serves delicious Italian seafood for dinner. They recommend sitting on the terrace with an ocean view and ordering the fresh tuna with a glass of champagne.

Grande Pavilion

Grande Pavilion, located on the Sea Point beachfront in Cape Town's dazzling port, is a great evening restaurant that Lucy and Izzie enjoyed. The elaborate dining area has a view of the Atlantic Ocean and the bustling promenade. They both recommend ordering the garlic langoustines with a bottle of South African crisp white wine and continuing your night with a cocktail or two at the atmospheric bar at the back of the restaurant after dinner.

Giovanni’s Deli

The cured meats, cheeses, fresh pastries and salads at Giovanni's Deli are perfect if you enjoy Italian food and delicious deli produce. It was Lucy and Izzie's go-to place for breakfast, lunch, and picnic supplies for the cast and production crew. They also spotted our gorgeous Florence kaftan, being worn by a customer!

The Mojo Market

The male model on our photo shoot suggested Mojo Market
in Sea Point. It's a fun food and lifestyle market open seven days a week, with free admission and live music every day! A wide variety of food vendors serving international cuisines, retail stalls, and a fantastic socialising experience.
