What It Really Means to Be a B Corp Fashion Brand
March marks B Corp Month - a global celebration of businesses using their platform as a force for good. As a proud certified B Corporation, we want to go beyond the logo and explain what this truly means for Aspiga, for our customers, and for the future of fashion.
Because B Corp isn’t a marketing line. It’s a legal and operational commitment.

What Is a B Corp?
Certified B Corporations are companies verified by B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
To achieve certification, businesses are assessed across five key areas:
1) Governance 2) Workers 3) Community 4) Environment 5) Customers
It’s about balancing purpose and profit and embedding responsibility into the core of how a company operates.
In 2022, Aspiga earned B Corp certification with a score of 98.9, becoming one of the early UK fashion brands to achieve this milestone. In 2025, we were re-certified with an even higher score of 106.7, a reflection of our commitment to continuous improvement.
Because this isn’t a one-time achievement. Every three years, B Corps must undergo rigorous reassessment to maintain certification.
Sustainability Has Been in Our DNA From Day One
Long before certifications became industry talking points, Aspiga was built around the belief that fashion can and should be a force for good.
Being a B Corp doesn’t change who we are. It validates who we’ve always been and holds us accountable to keep raising the bar.
For us, that means focusing on three fundamental pillars:
1. People First - Always
Fashion is powered by people. From artisans weaving belts by hand to makers printing fabrics and constructing garments, our supply chain is built on skilled communities.
We prioritise:
Fair wages // Safe working environments // Long-term partnerships // Empowering artisan craftsmanship

When you purchase an Aspiga piece, you’re not just buying a garment you’re supporting the hands and heritage behind it.
2. Planet Conscious at Every Step
Sustainable fashion isn’t about one “eco” collection. It’s about systemic decisions.
We focus on:
- Lower-impact materials such as ECOVERO™ and organic cotton
- Reducing waste across production
- Ethical sourcing and responsible manufacturing
- Longevity - creating contemporary pieces designed to last
- We believe beautiful clothing should never come at the expense of the planet.

3. Transparency Without the Spin
Consumers deserve clarity.
Being B Corp certified means we are legally accountable for our impact and committed to openly sharing our journey, including the challenges.
Progress over perfection. But measurable progress.

Redefining What Success Looks Like in Fashion
The traditional fashion model prioritises speed, scale, and margin. The result? Overproduction, waste, and compromised supply chains.
B Corp challenges that model.
It proves that profitability and positive impact are not mutually exclusive. That governance matters. That community investment matters. That environmental responsibility matters.
Good business should be the norm - not the exception.

Certification Isn’t the Finish Line
B Corp status is not a destination. It’s a framework for constant improvement.
With each reassessment, we are required to demonstrate stronger performance and deeper impact. That means evolving our practices, investing further into our supply chain, and continually refining how we operate.
Purpose-led business isn’t a trend. It’s the future.
And we are doubling down on proving that fashion can lead that shift.
